Vries, Shitembi and Mwedihanga signs PSL deals

Three Brave Warriors players, Virgil Vries, Willem Mwedihanga and Petrus Shitembi signed for Maritzburg United, Amazulu and Amatuks respectively this week after agreeing to personal terms with the South African Premier Soccer League(PSL) clubs.

Mwedihanga left MTC Premiership side Tigers this week to sign a two-years deal with Amazulu and is expected to be the key player in their defender as he proven to en reliable player over the past few years of his football career.

Midfielder Petrus Shitembi from Rundu Chiefs , has joins Amatuks on a three year deal and also gets a chance to continue with his studies as he is a second year Information Science Student.

“It’s an honour for me to play for Amatuks as I will be able to play football and continue with my studies. I received a warm welcome from the team and looking forward to playing”, the jubilant Shitembi told AmaTuks.co.za.

Jakes Amaning, who was involved in both deals said: “The two have passed their medicals and have singed good deals indeed and the future looks good for them. It is good for themselves and for the national team to have players that compete at professional level”.

Shitembi joins fellow country man Ronald Ketjijere who joined the team at the start of the season and has played a vital role in the middle of the park.

Virgil Vries, Brave Warriors and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper returned from Maritzburg United to feature for his local club against Black Africa tonight and will go back on Monday to link up with his new teammates.

“I have signed for 18 months with an option to renew for two years and I am so delighted to be going back after what happened at Golden Arrows.

I have been playing well for Pirates and got back into the national team and I believe I deserve it after all the motivation I got at home. I am very grateful for this chance to once again play professional football” Vries told www.nfa.org.na upon arrival.

Civics midfielder and captain Heinrich Isaacks returned home on Friday afternoon and he told www.nfa.org.na that he will sign with Maritzburg United in few days time.

“ I will also go back on Monday and I’m just tying some loose ends but I will sign and everything went well with the club”.

An offer has been made by PSL side Maritzburg United for his services and Civics are considering it.

Brave Warriors goalkeeper coach Ronnie Kanalelo is employed by Maritzburg United in the same position.
