The Brave Warriors will be without Manfred Starke, Rudolph Bester and Heinrich Isaacks as they host Tanzania in an international friendly match at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Wednesday night.

The three players were part of the 23-men squad called up last week by Coach Ricardo Mannetti and according to Team Manager Cyril Tim Isaacs, Maritzburg United midfielder Heinrich Isaacks withdrew from the team last week with a hamstring injury.

“ Initially, they (Maritzburg United) agreed on releasing him as they though he will shrug of the injury but further scans revealed he needs time to recover a sit was worse than they through, so he is out”, Isaacs explains.

Rudolph Bester, together with club mates Deon Hotto and Chris Katjiukua were released by Golden Arrows as well but Bester has since opted out of the Warriors team due to “lack of match fitness”.

“He informed us that he was not ready and he needed more match fitness and suprisingly we noticed that he played over the weekend in his club’s 4-2 defeat at AmaTUKS but we cannot force him to come so he is out as well”.

Hansa Rostock midfielder Manfred Starke is also out after his club deemed his call-up was a bit late: “Mannie (Manfred) was only called up later on after we realised most of the players the coach wanted were not fit and so our Technical Director Klaus Starke spoke to Rostock and the club initially agreed in principle but they made a u-turn on him and is unavailable as well” Isaacs says.

Controversy also surrounds the arrival of seasoned striker Henrico Botes of Platinum Stars in South Africa as he was initially released and later the club retracted their decision citing a league match on Friday, 7 March.

“The two coaches have spoken about it and could not reach an agreement on it and so we are writing to SAFA and FIFA to intervene as per the rules of football. We are waiting their response and the coach wants him here, that’s for sure and we are condiment he will come”.

Warriors coach Ricardo Mannetti has recalled Tangeni Shipahu, Orlando Pirates Eric Kahua and Black Africa’s Ananias Gebhardt to the team.

Tanzania arrives later today (Monday) and match tickets are going for N$ 40 each on Computicket at Shoprite and Checkers countrywide.
