Five new Warriors’ starters against Zambia

Tigers left-back Benyamin Nenkavu leads a group of five players that takes their places in the Brave Warriors Cosafa derby against Zambia in Casablanca tonight, 21h00, Namibian time, to decide who finishes top of the 2018 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) Group B at the Mohammed V Stadium.

Coach Ricardo Mannetti has made five changes to the starting line-up and brings in Benyamin Nenkavu, who passed a late fitness test to make the CHAN finals team and will start at left back while Vitapi Ngaruka will continue at right back after a stellar performance against Uganda on his debut last time out.

In central defence, Emilio Martin of Black Africa and Tiberius Lombard of Tura Magic will make their championship debut and take charge in front of Namibia’s number one goalkeeper Lodyt Kazapua.

Absalom Iimbondi will make it three out of three at right wing tonight and so will captain Ronald Ketjijere and Dynamo Fredericks in the engine room while Itamunua Keimuine will start on the left of midfield.

Theophilus Junias will be joined by last victory goal scorer Panduleni Nekundi in attack as Namibia looks to win and move back to their base in Marrakesh to face Sudan in the second quarterfinal on Saturday, 27 January. A draw or defeat for Namibia with mean Zambia moves back to Marrakech and the Brave Warriors finish second to face the host Morocco at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.

Riaan Hanamub, Ferdinand Karongee, Charles Hambira and Edmund Kambanda will start on the bench and so will Roger Katjiteo, Hendrick Somaeb, Petrus Shitembi, Kleopas Useb, Oswaldo Xamseb and Himeezembi Hengombe.
