Brave Warriors Prepares for Kenya
Brave Warriors head coach Arie Schans announced a formidable 23-man squad for a training camp as Namibia prepares to the FIFA World Cup and CAF Nations Cup Qualifiers starting end of May.
Following the unceremonious exit from the CAF African Nations Championships qualifier’s race last weekend against Zimbabwe, Schans is planning is planning for the future. The Dutch mentor on Monday, released a formidable squad that will be report for camp on Wednesday May 21 at eleven o’clock and prepare thoroughly for the qualifier against Kenya on Saturday, May 31 in Windhoek.
“This is the basic squad for the qualifiers but with injuries and other issues coming through, we will consider other players”, Schans says.
Midfield lynchpin, Oliver Riser of Hannover 96 in Germany, might be replaced from the initial squad after the coach revealed this, “ he sent me a text this morning (Monday) to say that eh have an angle-injury and so we are just awaiting confirmation before we make a decision”.
Team Manager Tim Isaacs reveals that the team might be involved in a competitive friendly match after request came through from South Africa and Botswana.
“We will have confirmation by hopefully Wednesday and maybe play Monday”.
