ACKY TO PRESENT IN ANGOLA – 09/04/2008

Namibian football has again taken another stride towards recognition as an important role player in continental football.   Miss. Jackey Gertze, Executive Committee member of the NFA and the force behind women football in the country, has been invited by the Angolan Football Association to do a presentation on the development of the women game in developing countries.  This invitation follows another excellent   presentation by Jackey at the 4th FIFA Women Football Symposium in Shanghai in China last year. Jackey is expected to share her experiences in the field of Women football development with members of the Angolan Women football movement including players and administrators at a specially organised workshop.   The Angolan Football Association will cover all her costs for the trip and stay in that country.

NFA President, Mr. John Muinjo could not contain his joy at the news of the invitation and said “I wish Jackey all the best for the invitation and know that she will again, just as in Shanghai make every Namibian proud with her work.  This is the kind of recognition that we all as a football family must work towards.  Jackey is being rewarded for standing up for women football and I am thrilled for this recognition”.
