NFA TO BE INTERVIEWED ON NEW POLICY – 15/04/2008
Acting Secretary General of the NFA, Mr. Barry Rukoro, has informed nfa.org that the association, together with other sports bodies across the country has be invited by the Sport Commission, Namibia’s supreme sports governing body, to attend interviews and answer to questions that will assist the Commission with a new policy on the categorization of sports codes in the country.
The placement of sports codes will depend on the performance of the Spots Codes at the interviews. The NFA will be expected to submit certain obligatory documents such as the constitution and audited financial repots. “We will be ready to present the case of football in a clear manner and will leave no doubt in the minds of the Commission as to football’s place on the sporting ladder in Namibia” said Rukoro.
The Commission aims to update the old and outdated categorization policy. It is expected that the new categorization will allow the Commission to distribute resources more sensibly and in relation to the size and importance to the country of a particular sports code.
