NFA to meet with Schans on way forward
WINDHOEK,29 JAN (NAMPA)–The Namibia Football Association (NFA) Executive will next week meet with the Brave Warriors' care-taker coach Arie Schans to chart the way forward.
NFA Acting Secretary-General, Barry Rukoro told Nampa on Tuesday that the controlling body's agreement with Schans was for him to coach the Brave Warriors during the Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana only.
“The agreement with Schans ended at the competition and he has completed that agreement,”said Rukoro. Namibia drew 1-1 with Guinea in their last Group A match, a result that effectively ended the country's participation in the competition.
Rukoro said he was with Schans, who is expected here on Saturday morning along with the rest of the squad and the supporters who accompanied the team to Ghana.
He added that the Brave Warriors' performance against Guinea on Monday night showed that the players have learned a lot from the competition, including their matches against Ghana and Morocco.
'The have shown confidence in the way they carried themselves which is an important achievement for the team. As a soccer administrator I am very impressed with the team's discipline and Schans' work,' said Rukoro.
