 Rukoro Appointed, Saintfeit Takes over Warriors
The Namibia football Association on Saturday, 28 June held an executive meeting in Windhoek that deliberated on various issues concerning the beautiful game.
A press briefing on the meeting outcome was held today, Tuesday,  with NFA Spokesperson Beau Kauta informing the gathering  that  they  discussed and endorsed  the appointment of  Acting Secretary General Barry Rukoro on a  renewable two-year  contract as Secretary General as effective of July 1.
Kauta stated that Rukoro who has been acting since November 2006 was given two years instead of the prescribed five due to NFA Election to be held  during that eventful year.
It was also confirmed that the contract of Brave Warriors coach Arie Schans was mutually terminated in wake of poor results for the pride of the nation in their bid to compete at the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup and CAF Africa Nations Cup tournaments to be staged in South Africa and Angola respectively.
Schans took over from the late Zambian coach Ben Bumfuchile on the eve of the Ghana 2008 tournament and have only managed a single victory in 12 matches with the Brave Warriors.
To this end, the football administration have head-hunted a certain Tom Saintfeit to take over the reigns as head coach of the National senior team.
Saintfiet is to arrive in the country next week to prepare the Brave Warriors for the annual COSAFA Cup to be played on July 17 in Mpumalanga, South Africa and Kauta indicated that the 35 year-old Belgian with have the freedom of selecting his own local assistant coach.
The football Instructor is also to head the national under23 side and will be assessed during the COSAFA Cup and the remaining two 2010 Qualifiers coming in September.
Namibia is currently bottom of their Group 2 on three points and will be hosting Zimbabwe before travelling to Kenya.
Meanwhile, the new technical Director of the NFA Klaus Starke is expected in the country by August 11 and will be responsible for all developmental youth teams, including women soccer.
