SKW clashes with Stars In the second MTC NFA Cup semi-finals match at the Khomasdal stadium, it will be the defending champions African Stars locking horns with Sport Klub Windhoek to determine who proceeds to the biggest game of the season. Stars’ preparation have not been that smooth as they were in limbo about whether they will play on Wednesday against Black Africa to honour their abandoned first term match, but with that aside should go into this clash against SKW knowing that victory will be appreciated by hordes of their adoring fans. SKW have had a dream season enforced by consistencies earlier on but for the last two months the Olympia-based team seems to be running out of steam and knows that on Saturday at five o’clock, they have to be at their best if they are to entertain hopes of reaching the final. Arent Von Stryk is part of the Brave Warriors squad to engage Kenya next weekend and will have to justify his selection with inspiring performance from the front, but the Stars rearguard with Pat-Neville Uanivi in the team and the doubtful captain Andrew Tjahikika, a lot will have to come from Patrick Jagger and others. Stars coach Gilbert Rwasoka will again bank on his compatriot Silver Surayari to continue his scoring and wingers Getson Ndjiharine and Masinga to fuel up the offence. Stars lost to SKW in the first knockout competition of the season, FNB Cup, and will be hoping to be the team in the season closing MTC NFA Cup, which they have to defend after trouncing Orlando Pirates in last year’s memorable final. The champions of the competition will be 350 000 Dollars rich in addition to lifting the coveted trophy and gold medals, with the losers to bank an incredible 160 000 Dollars. Losing semi-finalists will each be rewarded with 60 000 Dollars. Semi-finals Draw: Saturday, 24 May 2008 15h00: Ramblers V. Civics 17h00: SKW V. African Stars
