Under-15 Tournament at Tsumeb The NFA will be hosting the second edition of the under-15 Development Program Tournament at Tsumeb from Thursday to Sunday. The competition that brings together young people from various constituencies have saw an increase of participants to 12 , two more than of those that participated in the inaugural championship held in Grootfontein last year. Speaking at the launch of the program on Tuesday at the Soccer House, Barry Rukoro reaffirmed his institution’s commitment to development and urged various towns and villages to ensure participation. “We have an obligation towards our young generation and projects of this nature can only augur well for their futures. We have to make significant contribution to their lives and the NFA is doing its part in this regard”, the Acting Secretary of the NFA, Rukoro said. He added that the program is aimed at ensuring that Namibia qualifies for major continental and global soccer events as frequent as possible, “The Brave Warriors has been at the Nations Cup for two editions and in order to make this progressive, we have to employ constant, consistent and sustainable youth program that can produce future national stars” “And with this one we aim to see Namibia represented by the London 2012 Olympics”. Other developmental programs of the FA on male soccer are the Khomas under-17 league, the Built-it Under-13 Tournament, the Namibian Newspapers uner-20 competition and the recently launched und-17 league at Oshakati. On their parts national under-15 side coach Willem Kapukare and team manager Evaristus Evaristus commended the FA in its endeavours in ensuring that more youths are provide with platforms where they parade their skills and called on targeted sectors to engage.
