FOOTBALL PAYS RESPECTS TO PANDENI 25/03/2008
The Namibia Football Association has announced a decision to introduce a moment of silence before the kick-off of all football matches taking place under its auspices between the 26th and 30th March 2008. The Moment of silence is in the memory of the passing away of Honourable John Pandeni, Minister of Regional and Local Government and Housing and Rural Development who passed away in a car accident. The NFA has urged the football family to respect the moment of silence and pay due respect to a hero of the nation. Pandeni is known to have made valuable contribution to the struggle for the independence of Namibia.
The matches taking place during the period include the Brave Warriors international friendly match against Malawi at the Independence Stadium and the MTC NFA Cup Round of Sixteen matches in Walvisbay at the weekend.
