GOAL 2 NEARLY A REALITY - 11/02/2008

NFA.org has established from Soccer House that FIFA, the world governing body of football, has informed the NFA that it has considered and approved the Association’s proposal for its second project under the frame work of GOAL.  The NFA constructed Soccer House under Goal 1 and is now looking to start with the construction of a Technical Centre under Goal 2.

President of the NFA, Mr. John Muinjo, thanked FIFA for approving the NFA’s proposal and promised that all will be done to ensure that the project is another great success for the family of football in Namibia. 

Under the agreement FIFA will contribute an amount of U$ 400 000.00.  The NFA is left with a hefty deficit of about N$ 8000 000.00 to complete the project in its envisaged form.

FIFA is currently running two other projects in Namibia, all aimed at the development of the game.  Namibia stands to benefit from a nearly N$ 6000 000.00 for the laying of artificial turf at stadium in Namibia while a Win in Africa with Africa Programme for the professionalization of premier League Clubs has also started.
