GIANTS AVOID EACH OTHER IN MTC CUP – 13/02/2008
The MTC cup has delivered the most interesting draw of the last few years since the decision to elimination the seating of NPL teams at the MTC NFA CUP draw a few years back. This time all NPL teams managed to avoid each other at the preliminary stage of the competition, the round of 32. Defending champions African Stars will start their defense of the competition against former NPL giants Golden Bees of Outjo in Otjiwarongo on Sunday afternoon. Favorites Ramblers and Civics will face lower division Deportivo Alaves of Rehoboth and Mayor Power Ohangwena in Keetmanshoop and Otjiwarongo respectively.
Speaking at the well attended draw, the Vice- President of NFA, Dr. Korbinian Amutenya called on the Organising Committee to make this another huge success of the Association. He also called on the Association’s partners to accept that the development of the game is a costly exercise and that more resources are necessary to sustain the current growth in the game and that new partners be welcomed to assist our sport reach its full potential.
