NFA Disciplinary Committee dismiss case against BA
The matter brought by the Namibia Premier League before the NFA disciplinary Committee in which Black Africa has been reported to have failed to take proper disciplinary measures to ensure a save environment for their derby match against Orlando Pirates has been dismissed by the DC today. The match was the two clubs opening match of the season and took place on the 28th September 2007 and was attended by the legendary John Barnes the former Liverpool striker.
The grounds of the dismissal are the fact that the legal provision and the operational administration of the recruiting, deployment and compensation of security personnel contradict each other. It could therefore not be safely said that the responsibility to control the spectators at that match was that of Black Africa only. Black Africa was as such given the benefit of the doubt and acquitted.
Nfa.org learned that the by-law dealing with the responsibility of clubs during NPL matches was only distributed to the clubs after the incident.
