The Brave Warriors
 
  The Namibia national football team, nicknamed the Brave Warriors, is the national team of Namibia and is controlled by the Namibia Football Association.
The Brave Warriors played their first international match against Mauritius on June 7, 1990 in Windhoek and their biggest win to date was the 8-2 victory over Benin on July 15, 2000 in Windhoek with biggest defeat, the 7-1 loss to Egypt in Cairo on November 8, 1996 coupled with another 8-2 defeat at Egypt on July 13, 2001 in Alexandria.
 

They have never qualified for the World Cup but have made two appearances in the African Nations Cup in 1998 and 2008. The most capped player of the Brave Warriors is retired midfielder Johannes Congo Hindjou with 69 caps and retired Gervatius Gerros Uri-Khob is the all-time top goalscorer with 12 goals.

The current coach of the Brave Warriors is Tom Saintfiet since 2008. Namibia’s highest FIFA ranking was in November 1998 when they were ranked 68 in the World and their lowest 167 in July 1996.

  The 19th Ordinary Congress of the NFA is scheduled to take place on December 5 in Windhoek with members having confirmed their attendance.   The Namibian Football Association is launching a new women's football Development programme this year, called the 'Galz & Goals programme'. This initiative, aimed at young girls from age 11 to 15, could represent a breakthrough for Women’s Football in a country already heavily involved with FIFA in this very special aspect of football development.
